Did You Know?
That the general public is not aware of how doomed black dogs are when they are brought to a shelter because black dogs, particularly black labs or lab mixes, are euthanized at a horrifying rate at many pounds & shelters because people pass them up for lighter colored dogs. This syndrome is nationwide.
Big Black Dog Adoption Event (first ever in history) hosted by Meow & Fetch and Animal Care & Control.
Friday, May 16th at Meow & Fetch in the Boulevard @ Noda during Gallery Crawl (6:30 pm to 8:30 pm)
Our goal is to bring awareness to this problem and allow the public to meet some wonderful black dogs and black cats (as they face similar discriminations).
Visit www.blackpearldogs.com for more information on this syndrome
Contact Cindy Harris for more information on this event or to learn more about the fate of larger, darker dogs in shelters across America. Our May Newsletter has a small article explaining BBD Syndrome and Cindy's involvement in championing the Big Black Dog. We will forward it upon request/interest.
